The experience of remote work implementation in Peru
La experiencia de implementación del trabajo no presencial en el Perú

The objective of the study is to know how public institutions in Peru have implemented remoteworking forms by analysing the experiences of telework in the public sector before the pandemic and remote work between 2020 and 2021. For this, a qualitative research was designed and implemented in collaboration with representatives of three public entities of the national
government and five of local governments, as well as a quantitative research through an online survey applied to 11 266 public servants from the three Peruvian government levels (national, regional and local). Among the main findings, the study shows that the pandemic generated by the Covid-19 has forced entities to adapt to a non-face-to-face working strategy, despite not having previous experiences. In addition to this, the study reveals gaps in the application of remote working modalities at the government level, which promotion is faced as one of the main challenges. Finally, the study identifies key factors for the implementation of remote working modalities in the public sector.
